Let me start off by saying, that I apologize to the filmmakers who put this together. I know that you worked very hard and put your heart and soul into this, however I must say that this film, as far as horror films go, was a disappointment. This unfortunate fact didn’t have as much to do with the acting, special effects, or make up as much as to do with the overall story.
This was not a frightening film, lamentabley. I saw the potential, and I applaud the filmmakers efforts to put something out there that is original amidst a sludge filled sea of reboots and mediocrity. Unfortunately, this film lacked the punch of others in its genre, such as “Lights out” and “The Conjuring”.
Now the make up was excellent and the beast (i.e. The Bye Bye man himself) looked quite good, although I would have liked to have seen more of his malformed physique. He wore trousers and what looked to be a Henley, not very intimidating. His coat and hood ensemble, however, looked really cool.
There were some attempts and twists and turns, and even a couple of nice actor surprises, but still the film fell short.
Overall, I felt the film was a bit cliche, with the best parts being shown mostly in the trailers.
