It only takes passion and a dream to create something that can change the world. Hansi Oppenheimer, Filmmaker and founder of The Squee Project has envisioned a collective that celebrates the different aspects of the fangrrl experience. With that the Squee Project was born.

This award winning documentary is put together with a collective of creatives covering  cosplay, conventions, comic books, movies, podcasts, fanfic, episodics, and creating spaces for women, girls, femmes, and female identifying fangrrls to collaborate and network in geek-nerd culture.  No genre goes unscathyed from Anime to Horror and Sci Fi, the Squee Project covers it all and spares no detail.

This documentary has also garnered worldwide attention from fans all accrossthe world from Los Angeles to Melbourne.  And continues to make strides in celebrating all things fandom.

The next stage of evolution for this group is Squeecon: A unique one day event with performances, screenings, vendors and opportunities for networking celebrating diversity, representation and women in fandom.

The event is scheduled for December 1st in New Haven Connecticut at the Lyric Hall Theater.

SQUEECON TICKETS

On December 1st, The Squee! Project  will host its very first gathering of creators, consumers, and fans for a day of community at the Lyric Hall Theater in New Haven, Connecticut.

The Squee Project is a collective of fangrrl creators. We attempt to cover the full fandom experience including cosplay, conventions, comic books, movies, podcasts, fanfic, episodics, and creating spaces for women, girls, femmes, and female identifying fangrrls to collaborate and network in geek-nerd culture.

The Program so far includes featured screenings of Wayward: The Documentary, a sneak preview of the upcoming docu-series Looking For Leia, the premiere of the third installment of the Squee! Project web-series, and a program of short films.
