Genre: Action / Thriller
Runtime: 1h 46m
Rating: ★★★★☆ (8/10) A viciously fun, adrenaline-fueled sequel that cements Hutch Mansell as cinema’s most unlikely action hero.

Nobody 2 raises the stakes for Bob Odenkirk’s everyman-turned-lethal-operative Hutch Mansell. After reclaiming his life in the first installment, Hutch is drawn back into the shadows when an old enemy resurfaces with an army of mercenaries. What begins as a fight for survival quickly transforms into a brutal ballet of fists, bullets, and wit, reaffirming Hutch’s place among modern-day action antiheroes.

Director Ilya Naishuller once again delivers a kinetic, bone-crunching spectacle that blends dry humor with visceral violence. Bob Odenkirk proves his commitment wasn’t a one-off—his performance balances weary suburban dad charm with ruthless efficiency in fight sequences.

Derek Kolstad’s screenplay smartly avoids rehashing the first film’s beats. Instead, it expands Hutch’s world, digging deeper into his family dynamics while adding complexity to his past as a government “auditor.” The result is a tighter story with emotional weight anchoring its chaos.

Action-wise, Naishuller crafts some of the year’s most exhilarating sequences, A claustrophobic train ambush that rivals the first film’s bus fight. A warehouse siege showcasing Hutch’s improvisational brutality. Christopher Lloyd and RZA are returning for crowd-pleasing family team-ups. The pacing never drags, and while the body count is high, the film never loses its sense of dark, tongue-in-cheek humor.

  • Bob Odenkirk’s physicality and sharp comedic timing. Christopher Lloyd’s scene-stealing return as Hutch’s trigger-happy father. Inventive fight choreography blends Jason Bourne’s grit with John Wick’s operatic style. A deeper look into Hutch’s past and the consequences of his double life.

With Nobody 2, Odenkirk and Naishuller prove that lightning can strike twice. This sequel avoids the sophomore slump, delivering sharper writing, higher stakes, and more inventive carnage. Fans of John WickAtomic Blonde, and the original Nobody will find this a must-see.
