I like big snakes and I cannot lie. Paul Rudd and Jack Black star in Anaconda

Sony Pictures has dropped the official trailer for Anaconda, a bold reimagining of the cult “classic” thriller—this time with a comedic twist. Directed by Tom Gormican (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent), the film follows lifelong friends Doug (Jack Black) and Griff (Paul Rudd), who set out to fulfill their childhood dream of remaking Anaconda. What begins as a midlife passion project quickly spirals out of control when a very real giant snake crashes their chaotic movie set deep in the Amazon.

The trailer teases a mix of outrageous comedy and genuine thrills, with Black and Rudd’s chemistry anchoring a cast that also features Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior, and Brazilian star Selton Mello.

Written by Gormican and Kevin Etten, and produced by Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Etten, and Gormican, the film playfully blurs the line between parody and survival thriller. Executive producer Samson Mücke also joins the creative team.
