For the past six years, thousands of Angelenos rejoice for the wonder that is Stan Lee’s L.A. Comic Con. Formerly known as “Comikaze”, the annual comicbook expo takes place every fall during Halloween weekend. Fans gather from all over the world dressed as their favorite superhero or character from pop culture to celebrate all things geek-related. The center of the convention is of course its owner, Stan “The Man” Lee, best known for creating a slew of characters for Marvel Comics including The Fantastic Four, The X-Men, The Incredible Hulk, and Spider-Man.

While the convention is mainly centered around all things comicbook related, a few anticipated films and TV shows managed to get some promotion as well. On Saturday evening, nearly 10,000 fans rejoiced as Lee took the stage to introduce a panel focusing on the highly anticipated holiday release, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”. The film’s star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took the stage to talk about the film, introduce an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip, and take questions from the audience.

When asked what drew him to this project, Johnson stated “I saw the original and loved it. The script for the sequel was great and it gave me a chance to honor the man that charmed us all with the original, Robin Williams.”

While the panel was short, “The Rock” commanded the stage with such grace and elegance and even took a a few selfies with fans near the stage. Johnson closed the panel by taking a short Instagram video with the crowd, urging everyone to check out “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” in theatres this December.
