Shaboozey Brings The Outlaw Cherie Lee to San Diego Comic-Con with Exclusive Comic Debut, Live Panel, and Signing

GRAMMY®-winning, chart-topping singer-songwriter Shaboozey is making his way to San Diego Comic-Con 2026, bringing fans an exclusive first look at his debut comic book, The Outlaw Cherie Lee.

The comic marks the first issue in a three-part Western series from Range Comics, the comic and graphic novel imprint of Range Literary Publishing, and serves as an expansion of the story behind Shaboozey’s highly anticipated album of the same name, which arrives on July 31, 2026.

While The Outlaw Cherie Lee #1 won’t officially hit comic shops until August 18, 2026, Comic-Con attendees will have the rare opportunity to purchase the issue weeks before its nationwide release.

A Story That Expands the Music

Rather than simply serving as a companion piece, The Outlaw Cherie Lee expands the narrative of Shaboozey’s upcoming album, blending his musical storytelling with the visual language of comics to create a larger mythology.

The project continues the artist’s genre-blending approach, combining elements of Western folklore, Americana, and modern storytelling into a multimedia experience.

The comic was created by Collins “Shaboozey” Chibueze and Xaivia Inniss, with the script and story adaptation by Robert Jeffrey II. Artwork is provided by Sean Damien Hill, who handled both pencils, inks, and the cover art. Colors are by Andrew Dalhouse, lettering by Taylor Esposito of Ghost Glyph Studios, editing by Sarah Schonian Speich, and design by Matt Harding.

Music, Comics, and Pop Culture Collide

Shaboozey’s Comic-Con appearance highlights the growing crossover between music and comics, with artists increasingly using graphic storytelling to expand the worlds created through their music.

By pairing a new album with an original comic series, The Outlaw Cherie Lee offers fans a deeper way to experience the story, transforming it from an album into a broader narrative universe.

With an exclusive early release, a live podcast featuring one of today’s most influential digital creators, a trailer narrated by Jamie Foxx, and a rare fan signing, Shaboozey’s San Diego Comic-Con debut is shaping up to be one of the convention’s standout events.
