The Geekiest Weekend in Glasgow!

It’s that time of year again! The leaves are changing colour, the pumpkin spice is flowing, and Glasgow EPIC Comic Con is back!

Formerly known as ACME Comic Con, EPIC is Scotland’s number one, largest fan convention! EPIC will return to the Scottish Events Campus (SEC) on the shiny waters of the River Clyde. Prepare for a fan filled weekend with amazing guests, memorabilia, and merch from the worlds of TV, film, games, comics, books, manga, anime, and wrestling.

This year’s special guests include; British actor and comedian, Kayvan Novak. Novak is most famous for his role as Nandor the Relentless in cult TV series What We Do in the Shadows. As well as another British comedy staple Robert Llewellyn; who played the mechanoid Kryten in the classic sci-fi sitcom, Red Dwarf. You can meet Novak and Llewellyn and many other famous guests, grab a quick selfie or snag a signature at the Guest Autographs zone.

The Main Stage will feature interesting panels and performances. Glasgow has a vibrant cosplay scene and that has culminated in the ‘Cosplay City Championship’. The Championship was established in 2013 and is the longest running cosplay contest in Scotland. The qualifier will take place on Saturday the 26^th September with the final on Sunday the 27th September. May the best Cosplay win!

In the spacious SEC there is room for all! In the Artist Alley you can pick up beautiful, handmade, fandom inspired wares from talented vendors. There is also the Comics Village where you can meet writers and artists from established publishers as well as indie comics. And who wouldn’t want to see cosplay characters battle in the FTF Wrestle Arena!

Obviously you’ll have to get pics or it didn’t happen. On Geek Street fans will find immersive set props where you can take pictures and strike poses from your favourite franchises!

All this and much more will take place on the weekend of the 26^th and 27^th of September. Our international entertainment journalist will again don her cosplay (she is a professional of course!) and ‘get in aboot it’ as we say in Scotland.
