IFC announced today that a Season 2 episode of their horror-comedy original series Stan Against Evil, created by Dana Gould (The Simpsons), is now available to watch commercial-free, three weeks before the series’ linear premiere.  The episode is available on a variety of network platforms including VOD, TV Everywhere, and IFC’s social, mobile and digital pages, including Facebook and YouTube. Season 2 premieres on IFC Wednesday, November 1 at 10PM, with two back-to-back episodes airing weekly at 10PM and 10:30PM within a four week run.

Episode 203, “Curse of the Werepony,” is available to watch starting today on the following platforms:

Season 2 welcomes returning stars John C. McGinley (Scrubs) as Stan Miller, the curmudgeonly retired sheriff, and Janet Varney (You’re The Worst) as Evie Barret, the current sheriff in Willard’s Mill determined to wipe out the demons that plague their quaint New England town. After Evie mysteriously vanished in the Season 1 finale, Stan must reluctantly haul himself off his couch again to solve the mystery of his friend’s time-travelling disappearance. Through thick and thin, the unlikely team continues to battle against the unleashing of wicked demons trying to take over Willard’s Mill, which happens to be built on the site of a massive 17th century witch burning.

Deborah Baker Jr. (The Great Indoors) and Nate Mooney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) also return to co-star as Denise Miller, Stan’s absent-minded, do-good daughter, and Deputy Leon Drinkwater, Evie’s right hand man, respectively. Season 2 guest stars include Denise Boutte (Meet the Browns), Jeffrey Combs (Gotham, Re-Animator), David Koechner (Anchorman), Patty McCormack (The Bad Seed), and Steven Ogg (The Walking Dead).

Stan Against Evil is created, written and executive produced by Dana Gould, with Tom Lassally (Silicon Valley) also serving as executive producer. RadicalMedia (What Happened, Miss Simone?, MARS) produces the series with Frank Scherma and Justin Wilkes executive producing. Star John C. McGinley also serves as a producer.

Stan Against Evil Season 1 is available to watch on Hulu, iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay and XBox.

The 8 Episode Series Tries To Encompass A Lot Leaving Fans In A Cliffhanger.

Published

The 2010 “Avatar: The Last Airbender” movie by M. Night Shyamalan faced criticism for its deviations from the beloved animated series. The film struggled with pacing, casting, and a lackluster script, disappointing fans who cherished the source material. In contrast, the 2024 Netflix series has generated positive buzz for its commitment to diverse casting, adherence to the original storyline, and improved character development. The series seems poised to capture the essence of the animated show, offering a fresh and faithful adaptation that resonates with both new and existing fans.

Even though the Netflix series comes closer to the core ideals of the animated series, I feel it lacks heart. Many scenes barely scratch the surface of the relationships between the characters and the push-and-pull relationship between Aang and Zuko. I will admit the CG versions of Momo and Appa are just so gosh darn cute.

The 8 episode series tries to encompass a lot leaving fans in a cliffhanger. It’s worth a watch and I am hanging on for the next season to be announced.
