Tusk is the unearthly creation of Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier during their not so private conversations by the name of SModcasts. For the best experience in finding out more about the creation of this unusual story, I’d recommend you hear it from the men themselves on Smodcast Episode 259.

In the story, Justin Long plays a podcaster (much like Smith himself) who goes on missions to find the wackiest people to interview for his show. On one of these trips he stumbles across a man by the name of Mr. Howe who seems ripe with adventurous stories to tell. But when Wallace (Long) wakes up the next day, apparently having been drugged into a stupor, he finds himself a prisoner of a Walrus loving psychopath.

Now he is the kicker of the story: SPOILER ALERT!!!
Mr. Howe mutilates Wallace and turns him into a pet walrus. The idea is mind blowing and practically impossible to imagine. Herein lies the magic of this film. Kevin Smith asked his listeners to vote for him to make this movie by hashtagging #WalrusYes. Naturally, the powers that be made it so that everyone agreed with the making of the movie. Danger Will Robinson!

When Smith set out to deliver a movie about a man forced into becoming a walrus, I was unable to guess what I would see in theaters. Expectation ate at me, and curiosity drove me to the theater where I found the most peculiar thing… Kevin Smith delivered. He wrote and shot a movie with the exact premise he promised. Whatever you can vaguely guess the movie has, it does, and it has it in spare. So look out! This movie is not for the weak of stomach or are easy to traumatize. But definitely go watch it, as it is the only way to know what actually happened. No recounting will EVER do it justice. Kudos my man.
