I became hooked after the first episode. Gotta love autoplay on Hulu.
Why do I love it? First of all, I have the strangest connection to the Middle East. I think it is ancestral. Past life, whatevs. I mean, the women are just beautiful. This show has wonderfully strong characters. Jamal (Barhom) is an amazingly psychotic character. He takes full advantage of being who he is. A Powerful man. POWERFUL. Bassam (Rayner) is Jamal’s brother, who exiled himself from Abbudin 20 years prior, returns for the wedding of his nephew (Jamal’s son). Bassam comes family in tow. From there, a series of events occur. I am not going to give it away…but know that there is murder, violence and rape. This show is not suitable for children under 13. I believe the “Viewer Discretion Advised” disclaimer is provided for each episode. If not, then I am telling you. Grown Folk viewing only. If you can’t handle the rape, then don’t watch it. However, everyone knows that rape happens in all countries.
Okay, Season 2 starts on June 16, 2015. I will be home viewing, with Baklava and wine. Yep, I said it.
You should watch it to.
