The Groundbreaking “Anna and the Apocalypse” Lands on Digital Next Week

This year’s biggest sleeper hit, Anna and the Apocalypse, comes on Digital and On Demand in Standard and High Definition from Orion Pictures on February 12.

A unique mashup of romantic comedy, horror and a high school musical Anna and the Apocalypse changed the rules of what it means to be a movie.

When a zombie apocalypse threatens the sleepy town of Little Haven – at Christmas – Anna  and her friends are forced to fight, slash and sing their way to survival, facing the undead in a desperate race to reach their loved ones.  But they soon discover that no one is safe in this new world and, with civilization falling apart around them, the only people they can truly rely on are each other.

Directed by John McPhail (Where Do We Go From Here) from a screenplay by Alan McDonald and the late Ryan McHenry (BAFTA award-winning “Zombie Musical,”), Naysun Alae-Carew and Nicholas Crum of Blazing Griffin and Tracy Jarvis of Parkhouse Pictures produced the film.  With original music from Scottish writing duo Roddy Hart and Tommy Reilly, Anna and the Apocalypse is, “a cult classic in the making” (Bustle).
