This weekend, horror fans from all over gathered at the Marriott Burbank Hotel and Convention Center for “Son of Monsterpalooza”. The sister convention to Pasadena’s “Monsterpalooza”, “Son of Monsterpalooza” is held every fall in Burbank.
The convention boasted an impressive list of guests including Kathy Najimy, Fairuza Balk, Joanna Cassidy, Annabeth Gish, Veronica Cartwright, Jake Busey, Doyle, Kim Coates, Tony Todd, Gregory Plotkin, Piper Laurie, Steve Dash, Dee Wallace, Danny Pintauro, Mark Boone Junior, Jeremy Davies, Brian Thompson, Lori Petty, Alec Gillis, Tom Woodruff Jr., Marshall Bell, Sybil Danning, Lisa Loring, Christine Elise, Lance Henriksen, Greg Cannom, Michael Westmore, Ve Neill, James DuVal, The Chiodo Brothers, Sid Haig, William Forsythe, Bill Diamond, Rusty Cundieff, Darin Scott, Robert Brian Wilson, and Eric Freeman.
Panels for the convention included a sneak peek at several upcoming horror ventures in film and television. These programs include Eli Roth’s “History of Horror”, “Don’t Leave Home”, “Camp Cold Brook”, “Tales From the Hood 2”, “I Am Fear”, and an exclusive look at the final season of the hit Syfy reality series, “Face Off”. Fans were also given a sneak peek into the new horror film “Hell Fest” with Tony Todd and Gregory Plotkin, and a look at this weekend’s new blockbuster “The Predator”, with free poster signings after each panel.
All in all, Son of Monsterpalooza was a vast success! The convention returns to Burbank in 2019.
