Russell Crowe will forever be Maximus to me. It’s by far my favorite movie of all times. I will say though, that he hasn’t found that same sweet spot he hit in Gladiator all the way back in 2000. The Water Diviner is his latest attempt at getting that back It’s also his directorial debut. It’s a movie about an Australian man whose three sons go off to fight in the 1915 battle in Gallipoli and are believed to be dead. Connor (Crowe) goes off to find his boys among the rubble and piles of dead.
