How long has it been since we saw Sean Penn in a lead role?

Yes, it’s been years. I was super excited to see this film. Not because of the action. Because of Sean Penn.
This movie may tear your heart a bit, with the back story referencing war and death in Angola.

Penn’s character, Jim Terrier, is one of the good guys. He was just in the wrong job (well, being a mercenary can’t be that bad). Terrier, a sniper by trade, is tasked with an assignment which basically forces him out of the Africa and away from the love of his life. I love the build up. Back story provided…then moved on to years later.
Years later, back in Africa doing good. You know, the sins of the past can come back on you! This happened to Jim. Then follows a personal investigation on the who, what and why.
I only have to say, to be incognito…you can’t be so obvious carrying a camo backpack. Even military personnel knows that! Sometimes there is just that one guy who will smile in your face and stab you in the back….I guess that is popular in that trade. I am not sure.

Anyhow, SO MUCH ACTION. Sean Penn in some serious 12 pack shape for being…what…55? SO MUCH BLOOD! It didn’t bother me, because I love action films with shooting and hand to hand combat.
Grab that bag of popcorn and dose some serious butter on it and check this one out. This was much loved…but if you can’t handle the action (i.e. a bit squeamish), you may want to watch a Disney movie.
