Sequels usually aren’t as successful as the original movie but this 3rd sequel is far better than the second and equal to if not funnier than the first.
The movie has our long suffering British single lady finding herself over 40, unmarried and trying to fit in with her mommy friends and party friends. Bridget actually is stronger and content with her life as a successful news producer until she goes off to a music festival with the news anchor and ends up in bed with Dr Mc dreamy himself Jack played by Patrick Dempsey. To complicate matter she reunites with Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) at a christening and uses a box of (10 year old) expired condoms in both encounters. Preggers is the outcome and two possible fathers ignites some of the funniest and touching scenes in the movie Emma Thompson plays her Ob/GYN and is hilarious. The entire supporting cast adds to the high level of comedy and credible romance in the movie. Dempsey is charming and hot looking while Colin Firth brings the stability and English charm to this story. They even bring back the Hugh Grant character ( sort of) so all her loves are accounted for. But there is no doubt in my mind that this movie belongs to Renee Zellweger. She is Bridget Jones and you will laugh and cry with her. The supporting cast is her prop. Won’t spoil the outcome of who is the father and if there is a happy ending for Bridget. You need to experience the movie on your own
